Welcome to our second Wellness Wednesday on Februay 1st!
We will be giving a series of lunchtime lessons in staying healthy, happy and centred at the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre from noon to 1:00 pm. Bring your lunch along and get ready to learn how to knock your New Year Resolutions out of the park!
Join us on February First to listen to Liam Law's talk on Caring for Others through the Take a Hike Foundation.
The Caring for Others session addresses questions like: How can we help others while also taking care of ourselves? What are some ways we can check in on the mental health of those we care about? And how can we tell if anyone in our families, including ourselves, may need more help?
Liam Law is the Vancouver Island Program Manager with Take a Hike. Liam’s journey working with youth began over 10 years ago when he trained as a teacher and then as a youth worker at a residential substance use treatment program for youth and families. This work led him to complete his education to become a Clinical Counsellor where he worked on an integrated mobile crisis team. Liam began his career at Take a Hike as the Mental Health Clinician in the Nanaimo program and was subsequently hired as the Program Manager for our five Vancouver Island locations. Liam’s favourite moments at Take a Hike are when the youth and families he works with gain insight to who they are, where they have been, and where they want to go. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, padding, playing music, and woodworking.
