We are pleased to host Emma Knock from The Cowichan Brain Injury Society (CBIS) for our latest Lunch & Learn presentation.

Learn about the CBIS, what they do and how they serve the community. Emma will teach us how brain injuries are sustained and how they can affect people. She'll discuss how community members and business people can better serve those with a brain injury. 

Many people are unaware of the extent of change that can happen after an injury in all facets of an individual's life. Brain injury is considered an "invisible injury," and many times, it can go unnoticed or misdiagnosed. Employers and staff may be unaware that people have a brain injury. Upon learning that someone has a brain injury, people may not know how to serve them best, as they may present totally "normal."
