DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to host Brittany Marwick\, Job Developer for WorkBC.\n\n\n\nWith the challenges employers are facing in the current labour market\, Brittany will offer some impressive statistics and perspectives on why hiring persons with diverse abilities is a fantastic solution.\n\n\n\nResearch shows that diverse and inclusive workplaces are 2 times more likely to meet or exceed financial targets\, 6 times more likely to be innovative and 6 times more likely to effectively anticipate change.  What's more\, employers that hire through programs such as those offered by WorkBC\, experience a 72% higher retention rate and 86% higher attendance rate for employees.\n\n\n\nCome learn more about the services and programs offered by WorkBC including wage subsidy options and job coaching for employers and employees.\n\n\n\nThis Lunch N Learn will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel\, parking and entrance of Ypres Street.  Bring your own lunch\, coffee and tea available at the venue.  Free for Chamber Members\, $5 cash-at-door for Non-Members.\n\n\n\nAbout Brittany Marwick: Brittany is a Job Developer for the Cowichan Valley WorkBC Centre.  After completing her degree\, she went on to get her BC Career Development Practitioners designation.  Brittany has worked in Employment Services for over 3 years and has been providing successful placements across Vancouver Island.  She helps connect employers and jobseekers and assists individuals who experience barriers to employment by helping identify their strengths and overcome obstacles to secure sustainable employment in an inclusive workplace.
